The objective of this study was to determine phosphorus and potassium uptake in strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) Bounty and to test differences between broadcast fertilization and fertigation. Field experiments covered a young, non-fruiting population and a first fruiting year population. In the year of planting, phosphorus uptake was 85 mg per plant without runners but 165-190 mg per plant if runners were allowed to grow. Potassium uptake was 430 mg or 845-950 mg, respectively. In the first fruiting year, the phosphorus uptake of fruit was 150 mg and potassium uptake 1200 mg per plant. In the autumn of the first fruiting year, the average phosphorus content was 200 mg and the average potassium content 1900 mg per plant.
