The subject of this thesis was created during LUOTA –project, when the commissioner of the thesis Fiskars Oyj AB wanted to develop their factory area. Linked to the project an inventory of the existing vegetation was made as well as a partial layout. The aim of this thesis was to make a gen-eral plan on how to make this a little ragged area more customer friendly and functional.

The theory part of this thesis handles the green image of businesses – why should they invest on their green areas? As studies show, green areas have a major impact on peoples welfare, no matter the green area is at work or free time. The development of corporate green areas requires quite a finan-cial input but pays this back in time for example as welfare and a de-creased number or sickness absences among other things.

The general plan was made during the winter season 2014-2015 and the first part was carried out already in the summer of 2015. The implementa-tion of this plan is meant to continue in the summer of 2016 which is ideal for the national theme “Green year 2016”.
