The purpose of this Bachelor’s thesis was to collect and discuss fire safety solutions on a high rise construction site. The thasis was com-missioned by Hartela Etelä-Suomi Oy. The target was a building site Heka Herttoniemi Kirvesmiehenkatu 2. The fire safety instructions for a 12 to 16 floors high building during construction are used at the build-ing site.

First, the target building site is presented. Then practical solutions of fire safety on the construction site are discussed in accordance with the document Ohje yli 12-kerroksisten rakennusten rakennustyömaan paloturvallisuudesta following the headings of the documents. The solutions also follow the L2 Paloturvallisuus Oy’s Fire Safety Instructions for Kirvesmiehenkatu 2 constructions site and other instructions of the L2 Paloturvallisuus Oy fire safety consultant. The fire safety consultant has also contacted the fire department when necessary. In addition, the solutions considered the wishes and requirements of the commissioner of the thesis.

As a result of the thesis practical instructions were produced on fire safety for Hartela Oy’s future high rise construction sites. The instruc-tions are based on the observations of the thesis and fire safety in-structions. They follow the same headings as the document Ohje yli 12-kerroksisten rakennusten rakennustyömaan paloturvallisuudesta for clarity. The instructions emphasize detailed solutions and partly rely on Hartela Oy’s own safety materials. At some points it has also been suggested who to use to get the needed materials cost effectively.
