The purpose of this Bachelor´s thesis was to study the formation of quality and its importance in the building project along with systematic realizations of a quality assurance chain. The thesis was commissioned by YIT Suomi Oy HSFH unit which operates mainly in residential building production between Hämeenlinna and Kotka.

The subject of the thesis originated from the need of a new field application used in quality assurance chain performance on the construction site. Quality assurance chain was discussed in terms of theory and practice. In the theory part quality was studied through literature related to the building trade building trade YIT´s instructions. In the practical part, the items of quality assurance chain were carried out on an apartment building site according to the specifications.

As a result of the thesis a general view of directions of the quality assurance chain was created and the efficiency and clarity of the new Congrid field application in quality inspections was highlighted. The thesis can be used as an assistance tool in completion of quality assurance chain and production management in residential building production.
