The purpose of the final thesis was to describe parents’ experiences regarding the quality of the children's neurological nursing. The objective of the work was to provide new information that can be utilized in the development of the children’s neurological nursing.

The study was carried out with a qualitative research method. The material was collected from five parents who volunteered to participate the research and whose children had been on the day ward of university hospital during the research period. Theme interview was used as a collecting method of the material. Inductive content analysis was used in the analysis

According to the results of the study, the parents considered the neurological nursing mainly as a positive experience. However, suggestions for the development of the nursing occurred as well. All the parents stated that they had benefited from the research period and the families had positive memories of the nursing period. The parents were particularly satisfied with the nurses.

The parents’ experiences of the nursing quality consisted of seven upper categories; helping the parents, considering the family in the nursing, confidence in the professional skills, satisfaction with the staff, comfortableness of the nursing environment, experiences of the continuation of the nursing and wishes for the development of the nursing.

The research results can later be utilized in the development and improvement of the quality of neurological nursing.
