The purpose of the thesis was to help the football club of Hämeenlinna, Hämeenlinnan Jalkapalloseura, to improve the hobby activities of the juniors, so that also children and youth with a chronic disease could exercise safely. The most common chronic diseases of children are asthma, diabetes and epilepsy. The aim was to make a compact information package about these diseases and anaphylactic reaction, and about their symptoms and first aid. The information package was produced in electronic form for the use for the officials of the football club. The purpose of the information package is to give the officials of Hämeenlinnan Jalkapalloseura better capabilities to confront children with asthma, diabetes, epilepsy or severe allergy. The goal was to increase the amount of information about the diseases mentioned above among involved officials, juniors and their parents.

Another aim was also to give the authors as nurses capabilities to find and assess research information. The production of the output related to the thesis work helped develop skills in teaching and guidance that also includes producing written material. The subject was chosen because of its attractiveness. As the work progressed it was found to be useful, which encouraged the authors forward.

Based on the feedback received from Hämeenlinnan Jalkapalloseura the information package completed as an output of the thesis is useful. The officials of the club felt that they needed information about children’s and youth’s chronic diseases and their first aid. In electronic form the information package was seen as a modern way to pass on information to every one in Hämeenlinnan Jalkapalloseura, the officials, juniors themselves and their families. Persons in charge in the club will add the information package into the club’s website and their intention is to update the contents if necessary.
