The subject of this bachelor’s thesis was to find new ways to design and use them to design one outfit. This thesis was made for a small enterprise called Cobblerina, which was established in 2012 to produce bags and shoes. The aim of this thesis is to find out new ways of designing. The designing methods found during this work were used in designing the showstopper of Cobblerina's spring collection 2014. This women's outfit consists of a knee-length dress, high-heeled shoes and a clutch bag. The design of this outfit was influenced by the methods chosen from literature and the overall shapes and colors used in Cobblerina's spring collection 2014.

The chosen design methods for shoes and bags were studied by using the professional literature, which was mainly English and almost only concentrating on clothing design. These books depicted the whole process of designing from choosing the theme all the way to the runway. In addition to the literature, also the contest of some designing courses organized by HAMK University of Applied Sciences was included in the studied material.

The result of this thesis was an interesting overview of designing methods, which Cobblerina can use in designing its future collections. Some designing methods found in this paper were used in the showstopper of spring collection 2014 and some others were left to be used later on.
