The aim of this thesis was to find out whether or not creative methods are used in the occupational health in the field of social work. This was done with an inquiry to the managers of social work organisations. Managers’ point of view was needed because researcher is going to start her own business and buyers’ views are crucial. At the same time with this thesis process researcher worked in HAMK Starttihautomo to develop her business idea. One aim of this company is to provide occupational health services for the field of social work in the future. This thesis was carried out to get the information needed for productizing purposes.

This Bachelor’s thesis uses methodological triangulation which combines qualitative and quantitative research methods. Quantitative method was used for background information and qualitative to find out the actual needs of the organisations.

Theory background of this thesis compiles service design, client-centred design, participatory method and occupational health theory. The main focus was in the use of creative methods in occupational health services.

The most important finding is that creative methods are not being used for improving occupational health. Instead, sporty activities and improving the spirit of the work community are in the focus. Managers have very diverse thoughts about what occupational health really means. Some thought it’s only about spending day or two per year together with the work community, some had wider view which includes all the actions in the work place.

With the help of this thesis, researcher is able to start the productizing of services for her company and develop commercial occupational health services. Thesis also provides tools for marketing purposes and for communication with the clients.
