The subject of this thesis were the financial management processes and their development. The aim was to create process descriptions of the electronic financial management processes of the cinema Bio Rex Cinemas Oy and to create further proposals based on the current state of the process descriptions. In this study the company's purchase invoices, sales invoices, travel and expense billing, payroll, payments and general ledger processes were created.

The theory part dealt with the financial management in general and then in a more detailed way with processes of the financial management. In addition, the study explored the electronic financial management as well as its benefits. The research was carried out by using theme interviews. During the study Bio Rex’s Financial Manager and Accountant and Wages Clerk of the Accounting Company were interviewed. Process descriptions and development proposals to improve financial management processes were created on the basis of the theoretical framework, the theme interviews conducted as well as the author 's own experience.

As a result of this study effective and practical process flowcharts and descriptions were created. To support the verbal descriptions of processes the detailed process flowcharts were formed. Descriptions helped to find out how the Bio Rex’s Financial Management processes are currently working. In addition, some recommendations to improve process efficiency was formulated.

As a conclusion it was observed that the company's Financial Management processes are currently operating well. According this study, the main challenges are data transfer between Sales and Financial Management systems. Results proposals included various possibilities to transfer data between systems with a minimum manual work.
