Henkilöstöhallinnon intranetsivujen esimiesosion kehittäminen

The purpose of this thesis was to study what facts should the intranet of OpusCapita HR module for the foreman section, Leaders’ Corner, contain in order to support and intensify foremen managerial duties. The aim was to find out how the existing foreman section currently supports foremen and what flaws it has. After that, the new structure and content could be composed.

In the theoretical frame of reference, the organisation’s intranet is discussed from the point of view of Human Resources. Potential possibilities are elicited when it comes to internal communication between Human Resources and foremen. Standpoints concerning managerial duties and HR processes are also brought out in the theoretical frame of reference. The aim is to find out from the different aspects, what are the intranet’s possibilities when it comes to supporting work as a foreman when the supporting party is Human Resources. The aim is also to find out what kind of processes could HR provide in order to intensify foremen’s responsibilities.

The empirical study was conducted as a half structured interview for four foremen working at OpusCapita but also based on the researcher’s own experiences as an employee in the company in question. The study was quantitative by nature but was also conducted by qualitative methods.

New perspectives to content of the Leaders’ Corner’s, especially from the foremen aspect, was found in the study. As a conclusion of this study, new upper level structure was composed to Leaders’ Corner and contents were slightly thought. Development in other sections of the HR module is possible based on this study. It is possible to implement and bring new content to the Leaders’ Corner’s new upper level structure too.
