The aim of this thesis was to search an electric financial management software that would meet the needs of the client association. With the help of this software the purpose was to digitize the financial management of the client association. Until this the processes of financial management had been handled manually and by using various applications, which was considered very unpractical and time consuming. By centralizing the client association’s processes under single system, the processes of financial management and time resources can be made more effective by utilizing today’s digitalization and automation. The theoretical part of the thesis focused on two matters: what digitalization means in different processes of financial management and how automation is reflected in them. The development project of the thesis began by creating a study of the present state of the financial management of the client association. To fulfil the purpose of the thesis, all the processes used by the client association were included in the development project. Based on the theory, observations and interviews, the requirement criteria and target states for financial management and its processes were created. A suitable electric financial management software was mapped to meet these requirements. By software mapping, three suitable software options from two different software suppliers were selected for more detailed comparison. Software differences were observed from the perspective of software features and costs. The client association makes its choice concerning the electric financial management software based on the research result of this thesis.
