The aim of the thesis is to study the current business state of the dance school Petite Ballerina and to find out how it can continue its business after the founder retired and after the dance school’s activities have fallen on the shoulders of the rest of the family, who also have their own main jobs. When human resources are scarce, ways must be explored to facilitate existing practices that are time-consuming and too burdensome. The work also explains whether it is possible to increase business through social media marketing, making it more efficient and systematic and considering ways to calendar the activities of the dance school. The thesis updates the company’s strategy and vision and examines whether it is possible to strengthen them in the areas developed in the thesis. The thesis is carried out as research and development work in collaboration with dance school entrepreneurs and one of the entrepreneurs acts as the author of this thesis. The thesis examines the key issues, on which the concepts in the knowledge base, the company ́s strategy and vision, the operating process and division of labour, the annual marketing watch, and social media as part of marketing and marketing communication. The development targets and related tasks will be carried out in concrete ways when the thesis is being prepared and results will be obtained. The key results of the thesis are actual outputs for development sites and problems, for which entrepreneurs wanted solutions, are solved. I made an annual event clock for the company to help with marketing and activated social media channels and opened an Instagram account. The brand of the company was strengthened with marketing and the renovation of the dance school premises. The activities of the dance school were integrated into the company’s enterprise resource planning system. With it, new websites were created and opened, which brought a major development to the marketing, communication, and economic monitoring of the dance school. The thesis brought help to the activities of the dance school, and by doing it, the number of students increased. As the work progressed, practical solutions to the problems were implemented and these could be used in everyday business operations. Renovation of the dance school strengthened the company’s strategy and vision. All the development items implemented in the thesis are actively used and have already brought help to entrepreneurs ́ time constraints. In the future, additional ways to grow and stabilize business operations and increase sales should be considered.
