The purpose of this thesis was to find out what kind of well-being effects visitors experienced in the Aulanko nature reserve during their visit and which factors influenced these well-being experiences. The well-being effects were studied through three questions about well-being as part of wider Aulanko nature reserve visitor survey 2023 made by Metsähallitus. The visitor survey itself was produced for Metsähallitus in the form of a Powerpoint which Metsähallitus will publish on its website in the spring 2024. The data for the thesis was collected between 01.02.-23.10.2023 in the Aulanko nature reserve using standardized interview form made by Metsähallitus. The answers to the interview questions were stored in the Asta data system maintained by Metsähallitus, from which the final research results were obtained after the end of the data collection period. The thesis is qualitative in nature and the results were analysed through content analysis and thematic analysis. The results showed that a significant number of visitors to the Aulanko nature reserve felt that their psychological well-being had increased to some extent or more. The average value in euros given by people for the health and well-being effects of the visit was 168.62 euros, with a median of 30 euros. The monetary value of the health and well-being effects of the visit was higher if the respondent had spent two hours or more in the area. The open-ended answers about the factors that had a positive effect on the visit were themed, and based on the answers to the themes, the perceived well-being was most influenced by the properties of nature, physical activity and experiencing nature.
