Cattle breeding is persistent and systematic. Breeding aims to improve cattle to be more profitable and to make cows sustainable, productive and healthy. In Finland, breeding work has been done for decades and as knowledge increases the breeding aims and methods have changed. With the help of mating programs and breeding companies farms can develop their cattle in right direction.

In this thesis the opinions of artificial insemination customers were surveyed regarding artificial insemination services. The goal was to get feedback so that the commissioner could improve their services and also make their wide range of services known. The commissioner of this thesis is HH Embryo ltd. which specializes in animal genetics service marketing and sales. They act as the exclusive distributor of AltaGenetics.

The survey was executed between May and June 2014. The survey was focused on HH Embryo´s clients, who have actively used artificial insemination services. Replies were received from 42 answerers and response rate was 28,7%. Based on the answers it can be noted that the most of the artificial insemination clients have a dairy farm, on which the cattle number and yield are above Finland´s average. Cattle number was above Finland´s average also in farms which have beef cattle. Clients are interested in cattle breeding and they want to develop their cattle to be more productive and genetically better. The respondents were mainly satisfied with the inseminators and they think that the service is functional and flexible. Insemination service prices are suitable and cattle semen quality is good. People were also satisfied with other services that the company offers to its clients like breeding programs and structure classifications.
